There’s no flesh There’s no blood Within this body to kill There’s only an idea And ideas are bullet proof There’s no law There’s no judge Who can pass sentence on this We only have one fear Common contagious apathy We’ve been paralysed by choice Everyone has an agenda Hard to find to find your voice Try to keep things simple now If you think it’s wrong it probably is If you feel it’s wrong it usually is There’s no flesh There’s no blood Within this body to kill There’s only an idea And ideas are bullet proof

Crystal Harbour (lyrics j.hay, music j.hay/r hayter) When I sail a stormy sea You’re the calm at the the heart of me and I thank-you When the waves wash over me You’re the miracle that saves me, my angel When I’m with you Breathtaking Blue You’re a Crystal Harbour That I dive into Breathtaking Blue Like a Crystal Harbour That I dive in When I wander the seven seas You’re the flame here inside of me and it burns When I’m lost no guarantees You’re the North Star to guide me & I know, it’s time to come home When I’m with you Breathtaking Blue You’re a Crystal Harbour That I dive into Breathtaking Blue Like a Crystal Harbour That I dive in Wherever you are that’s my home Wherever you are that’s my home When I’m with you Breathtaking Blue You’re a Crystal Harbour That I dive into Breathtaking Blue Like a Crystal Harbour That I dive in

about

isunray (pronounced eye-sun-ray)

isunray is the electro-pop, ambient brainchild of multi-instrumentalist and producer Jeremy (Jay) Hay from Wellington, New Zealand.

Inspired by the eighties, Touch. Life! uses modern production techniques to create strong melodic hooks, shimmering synths, crisp beats and reverb soaked atmospheres, allowing listeners to experience each piece of music as they were touched, crafted and moulded into life.

Touch. Life! the human need to touch and be touched, an idea we’ve come to realise is more important now than ever.

Reviews

Some early reviews of Touch. Life!

“Touch. Life!” weaves a complex soundscape that is both cinematic and beautifully sculpted. From Kraftwerk-inspired tracks to jazzy synth-pop to spacey and ethereal, isunray has delivered a sonic kaleidoscope of brilliant music that has a dash of Harold Faltermeyer charm. Even the instrumental tracks keep the listener engaged with clever use of varying melodic riffs. This album is a must have and definitely warrants repeat listening." DarwinMcD electronic music artist, producer and remixer.

"Touch, Life!" is a time travel album both to the past and the future at the same time? How's that possible? It takes you back to a time when machines and melodic vocals worked together to create feelings and visions of the future with it's emotionally driven arrangements and hyper produced synthesizer, drums, bass and instrumentation..live now and you can easily do the same...That future will appear in when you realise..that it's full of great songs. This album is the foundation of a new future sound. isunray has dug deep, opening a portal that brings you a classic from the New Zealand electro dreamscapes. Listen loud and long with good speakers!" Jeramiah Ross / Module - Electronic Producer, Live Performer....Scientist!

",,,a fantastic job on the album. I'd play just about any track on my show." Jimm Kjelgaard - The Sol Of Synth Pop Radio Show / Eminent Sol.

"This is a must-have album for any synth-pop fan! Isunray's love of 80s and Synthpop really shines through in his debut album Touch Life ! It's cool and chill just like him!" Shannon Seward - Darkwave Delights Facebook

Tracklist

Touch. Life! has eight works:

1. Icebergs Off The Coast

Inspired by a vast iceberg that broke away from Antarctica before drifting towards Aotearoa New Zealand. As you listen to a pulsing current of liquid beats and bass, you’ll feel the chill as the serene iceberg drifts inexorably up our green coast.

2. Werk It!

Kraftwerk were the most influential band since The Beatles. Werk It! takes their early influence and wraps it around an unforgettable electro groove. With slippery synths, analog waves of sound caress and modulate around simple melodic lines and unexpected percussion. You’ve got to Werk It!

3. Ideas Are Bulletproof

This propulsive slice of electronic pop is undeniable. Uncompromising rhythms keep the body moving while phasing synths and electric piano underpin alluring vocals. No matter what happens to the body, ideas grow and shape the world around us. Allow yourself to explore the power of an idea because Ideas Are Bulletproof.

4. Cerebral

This music is a celebration of old school sequencers, warm Moog basses, atmospheric swirls of sound and snatches of pipes allowing the mind to rest, recharge and explore the Cerebral.

5 Crystal Harbour

Luscious vocals, full bodied bass, glacial synths and crisp beats ensure this love song will make you feel safe in a Crystal Harbour.

6. Still Testing

When New Zealand Rocket Labs brought rocket ships to the Mahia Peninsula, one of those early rockets was called Still Testing. Driven by insistent synth arpeggios, cushioned by warm pads and punctuated by huge drums, you can feel the rocket get ready for launch then allow yourself to be powered into space before setting into a gentle orbit.

7. Eternal To Eternity

Eternal To Eternity’s piano intro sets up gentle melodic hooks with soaring sonic imagery before dropping back to an intimate exploration of our humanity and our place in eternity.

8. Never Forgotten

A lost work that was rescued and re-imagined into a evolving blend of captivating synths, evolving pads and change ups providing a commemoration and a celebration of that which is Never Forgotten.
